Juventus have completed the signing of Emre Can on a free contract. He has signed a 4 year deal with the club and will earn €5 million per season.

The Germany International will join the Turin side on July 1 when his contract with Liverpool expires after opting against an extended stay with them. He will wear the number 23 shirt.

Liverpool announced on 8 June that the midfielder, who signed from Bayer Leverkusen in July 2014, would leave the club when his contract expires this summer. He made 167 appearances for them in the past 4 seasons and scored 14 goals.

The 24 year old had been long linked with a move to the Serie A giants. There were many clubs who showed interest in him but they were always leading the chase for him and their CEO Beppe Marotta amost confirmed that the deal was done.

“We are optimistic about the positive end of negotiations with Emre Can,” he told as quoted by Goal. “We hope to announce his signing after the Champions League final.”

The Reds were also keen to keep hold of him beyond this summer. He was a regular for the club last season, played 37 games in all competitions, scoring six goals and assisting five.

However, a back injury sustained on March 17 against Watford all but ended Can’s 2017-18 campaign. Originally not thought to be too serious, the ailment sidelined him for both of Germany’s March friendlies as well as the remainder of the Premier League season and costed him a place in the World Cup squad.

But the negotiations between them have hit an impasse. Despite the Premier League giant’s several offers for a new and improved contract, he rejected every advances.
