Players of Italian champion Juventus have agreed to a pay cut for the benefit of the employees of the club.

This measure will help the club to ease the financial burden during the coronavirus pandemic. At a time when a scenario of serious financial losses is expected due to the Covid-19 disease pandemic, several clubs are already trying to mitigate the effects of the pandemic by cutting wages to players.

This was the case with Juventus, who had some proposals from captain Giorgio Chiellini for that purpose. According to the Italian newspaper Tuttosport, Juventus agreed with the proposals presented by the centre, with a degree in economics and a master’s in administration. Cristiano Ronaldo was one of the members of the squad that agreed to waive a month and a half salary.

The same source says that some details of the agreement still need to be defined, but the measure is about to be implemented by the Italian club.
