According to the latest reports, Juventus are willing to ignore Joao Cancelo’s wishes and sell him off this very summer.
The Portuguese international, who arrived at the club only a year back for €40m, struggled to establish himself as a dependable right-back for the long-term future.
Cancelo played in 35 games last term, scored one goal and laid out 5 assists. He wants to stay at the Allianz Stadium and prove his worth under the new head coach, Maurizio Sarri.
Unfortunately for the 25-year-old, that decision might not be left up to him as the Juventus hierarchy plans on shipping him out. The Bianconeri believe they can extract around €60m from his sale which will be a huge boost after the number of big-money arrivals over the past few transfer windows.
Manchester City were tipped to be favourites for Cancelo but that would depend on Danilo leaving the Etihad. Their rivals, Manchester United were also strong contenders but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer chose to shop locally and sign a younger Aaron Wan Bissaka from Crystal Palace.
Sarri has a large enough squad to pick out the players that he likes but he is pretty much limited in the right-back position. His only other choice than Cancelo is Mattia De Sciglio, a 26-year-old Italy international who has so far been a backup option at Turin.
If no serious offers turn up for Cancelo, chances are the former Valencia player might continue his stay with Juve.
