The Croatian has rejected an offer from Paris Saint-Germain.
Out-of-favor Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic has turned down the chance to join Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
The experienced Croatian forward has fallen down the pecking order under new boss Maurizio Sarri and has been subject to interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, after injuries decimated their attacking options for the start of the new season.
On Wednesday, Sky Italia reported that the French champions opened talks with Mandzukic and approached him with an offer to move to Paris to solve their attacking problems. However, it turns out the striker has reportedly turned down the offer and will remain at Juventus until January.
The 33-year-old is in no rush to decide his future and especially, to rush through such an important decision in the final days of the transfer market, per Sky Italia again. He risks being left off the Juventus squad for the Champions League, but seems determined to remain in Turin and reconsider his position in 2020.
The Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio believes that it is more likely that he will quit the Old Lady in January, in the event that a option in China becomes available or if Manchester United come back in for him, a club that was linked with as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who left the Red Devils to complete a move to Inter Milan earlier this month.
The Croatian has scored 44 times in 162 appearances for the Italian champions since a 2015 switch from Atletico Madrid.
