Juventus are considering appointing Antonio Conte if Max Allegri leaves the club.

Allegri has a contract till 2020 and is expected to see out the remaining of his contract. Significant success in the domestic competitions has made him a household name in Turin.

But Juventus’ long term ambition to conquer the Champions League hasn’t been fulfilled under his tutelage. Juve lost the first leg 2-0 to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League round of 16 and need to produce a remarkable performance in the second leg to turn around things.

Conte has been without a club since leaving chelsea  last season. Technically he is still contracted with the West London club and is being paid by the club. Conte’s successful stint with Juventus was the start of his rapid rise.

The Italian manager went on to lift three consecutive Serie-A titles during his stay in Turin. He later departed the club to manage the Italy national team and subsequently joined Chelsea.

Should Conte replace Allegri he will be accompanied by Andrea Pirlo in the dugout. The former Italy midfielder is touted to be the club’s academy manager but is expected to be Conte’s number two if the former returns to Italy.
