Italian giants Juventus are set to offer Paul Pogba a new contract in order to fend off interest from Premier League side Chelsea.

The French international, who won the FIFA’s Young Player of the Tournament award at the World Cup, has been closely watched by Jose Mourinho and his scouting team, and after yet another fine season in Serie A, interest in the 21-year-old was high.

Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Chelsea and even ex-club Manchester United were all reportedly interested in signing the midfielder, but it now appears that Juve have a plan to keep hold of him and that plan is to offer him a new long-term contract.

The Frenchman joined Antonio Conte’s team after falling out with Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford, and just a few years later, he has developed into one of Europe’s hottest properties.

However, his agent has confirmed that a new deal could be on the table in Italy and a move to Chelsea is just a fantasy.

He said: ‘Everything is perfect at Juventus and no meetings are planned.

‘Paul to Chelsea? It’s just fantasy football.’
