After couple of failed loans, the Argentine could remain on long-term again in Turin.

Juventus are reportedly considering offering experienced forward Gonzalo Higuain a new contract.

Gonzalo Higuain has scored once and provided one assist in four outings for Juventus this season, having returned to the club over the summer following loan spells at AC Milan and Chelsea. He returned to Turin after a disappointing loan spell with Chelsea and was very likely to leave the club during the summer, with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Moise Kean ahead of him in the pecking order.

The 31-year-old has netted 56 times in 109 appearances for the Old Lady in all competitions, but the Argentine will see his current deal in Turin expire at the end of the 2020/21 campaign.

According to Calciomercato, Juventus are working on a new contract for the Argentine as a signal of his importance under Maurizio Sarri, who has replaced Massimiliano Allegri as head coach of the Italian champions.

The striker was thought to have a number of options this summer. The likes of West Ham, Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid are all had been keen, but it seems that Higuain is set to remain with Juventus.

He played the final 18 minutes of Saturday’s 2-1 win over Hellas Verona, where Aaron Ramsey scored his first goal for the Serie A giants following a switch from Arsenal.
