AC Milan midfielder Kaka has today announced that he has told his club not to pay him throughout the duration of his latest injury.
Kaka made his return to the Rossoneri after his free transfer from Real Madrid at the weekend against Torino and suffered an early setback with an adductor muscle injury. However, the midfielder told the club’s website “Yesterday was tough for me as I found out about my injury.”
“I have decided that I do not want anything from Milan except their moral support and affection. Until I am fit and ready again I have decided not to receive my wages.”
Having taken a significant wage cut to complete the move back to the San Siro, this is an early disappointment. I think I speak for all football fans in wishing Kaka a speedy recovery – hopefully to the form that won him the Ballon d’Or back in 2007.
