Karim Benzema admits he needs to shoulder more responsibility to fill up the void following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo decided to move to Juventus in a £100m deal and the Spanish giants seem to have already been dealt a major blow by his absence. Madrid are currently behind four points from league leaders Barcelona and are languishing in the sixth place.
Benzema has already found the net 10 times but it hasn’t been enough as Real Madrid are yet to show their supremacy this season. The French forward has been linked with a number of clubs but is determined to prove his worth in the White jersey.
Benzema says he needs to fire more frequently to keep the club in the hunt. “A little bit more now that Cristiano has gone; now he’s not here to bring us goals so it’s up to me to do that.
“I feel very motivated and I’m ready to take on the task.”
