Kasper Schmeichel signed a new four year deal at Leicester this week, and has now revealed why he turned down offers from big clubs to stay with the Foxes.
The 27-year-old has claimed his first choice was always to stay at the club rather than jeopardise his progress by moving to a bigger team,
He told Ekstra Bladet: “I can not put concrete things on the table.
“But there have been opportunities, and there were some very interesting proposals.”
“My goal has always been to play in the Premier League, and it’ll be with Leicester now, and I have it really good in the club.
“I do not think there’s any reason to start taking chances with my career right now.
“You never get a guarantee to play, but I know I have a good chance to play in Leicester.”
