Kenedy has returned to Chelsea from injury ridden loan at Watford, reveals Walter Mazzarri

Watford manager Walter Mazzarri has confirmed that Kenedy has returned to Chelsea from an injury ridden loan stint at Vicarage Road.

The Blues sent the winger on a season-long loan to Watford in August in a bid for the Brazil U20 international to receive a starting spot in the Premier League but it has not worked out.

Kenedy suffered a knee injury while with the Hornets and only played 15 minutes for the side in a 2-0 loss against Burnley in September.

“Kenedy went back to Chelsea,” Watford chief Mazzarri said.

“He was a player we never had time to evaluate because he was injured the whole time.”

Blues star Cesc Fabregas uploaded a photo of himself and Kenedy to social networking site Instagram early in December which started rumours of whether the 20-year-old had already gone back to Stamford Bridge.

It has not yet been clarified as to whether or not Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will send him out on loan to another Premier League club in the January transfer window.
