Kevin De Bruyne has finally been ruled fit enough to appear for this week’s clash against Everton in the Premier League but Pep Guardiola is in no rush to get his attacking midfielder back on the pitch.

The Manchester City boss said, “Sometimes people recover quite well, sometimes mentally it takes time. We don’t want to be injured, but maybe this injury helped us. Now he’s fresh in his mind, he is recovered and now he tries again to avoid the injuries and play regularly. Of course, he is going to be important for us. He is a special player for us.”

De Bruyne is coming off his second knee injury this very season which in turn has prevented him from starting more than two games. The 27-year-old showed up for 52 games last season during which he scored 12 goals and furthered 21 assists. He also played a crucial role in helping his country to the third spot of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

It was only time before his body was to give in. “He has to recover his full condition, he has to compete with the players who have done incredibly well so far. “But of course, when we have more players, we can rotate more. When we have competition between the players it’s much better, so of course, it’s good news that he is coming back.”

In a stacked City side which is overflowing with world-class talents, Pep has managed to weave his way around De Bruyne’s absence to keep City just a point off Liverpool at the second spot of the Premier League. There is no doubt over what De Bruyne’s return will add to the English Champions as fans closely anticipate the maestro’s return.
