Kevin De Bruyne Opens Up On Manchester City’s Chances Of Winning The Quadruple

Kevin De Bruyne insists it would be very hard to win the quadruple for Manchester City.

The defending Premier League champions won the Carabao Cup on Sunday by getting the better of Chelsea in the penalty shootout. The Sky Blues are also in contention to defend their Premier League title while a 4-1 hammering of Newport County in the FA Cup fifth round kept their hopes alive in the competition.

City had a sloppy outing against Schalke in the Champions League but goals from Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling eased the pressure on Pep Guardiola. No clubs have managed to do a quadruple so far.

Manchester United did manage to conquer a historic treble in 1999 but City would be licking their chops given their current run of form.

On being asked about their chances of sealing the quadruple the Belgian midfielder said, “Almost impossible.

“We are going to try and win as many games as possible. If you do that you must be considered the best team ever because nobody has done it. However, we are not looking at that.

“We want to win as much as possible but not to think about the quadruple. If we win three and then play the Champions League final then maybe we can talk about it. Before that, no way!”
