Manchester City enjoyed the top of the table for just a day this weekend before Liverpool beat Manchester United by 3 goals to 1. The two contenders are 5 points clear of the rest of the league with 21 games still left in the 2018/19 season.

Kevin De Bruyne seems unphased by the Liverpool side with more than half of the season still left. When asked about the title race, the Belgian said, “I don’t know why they can’t sustain it [a title charge],” City star De Bruyne said. “I think they will go on to the end.

“To be fair I’m not too worried about them – they will do what they do and we’ll have to try to win our games and go forward. They’ll try to keep pace with us and vice versa. But it’s still early. There’s no pressure. We need to do what we do.”

City are currently the Champions of England and would like nothing better than to retain that title at the end of this season. The busy December schedule is already upon us and will definitely test the resolve of both sides.

“There is still so long to go. The amount of games can trip you up, injuries can trip you up.”
