Sami Khedira’s agent has confirmed to The Telegraph that no talks have taken place between Arsenal or Chelsea with his client as speculation rumbles on over the German’s future.
Reports had been rife that Arsenal had agreed a fee for midfielder, and he had also been touted for a move to Stamford Bridge as Jose Mourinho looks to manage the 27 year-old for the second time in his career.
His agent, Jorg Neubauer, has denied that Khedira has spoken to either club by stating:
“We are not in talks with Arsenal.”
“I don’t think a fee can have been agreed, otherwise I would have been told.
“When a club have an interest I am sure they will call me and we will speak about things. The same goes for Chelsea.”
The Real Madrid ace has just one year left on his contract at the Bernabeu, and first team opportunites are set to be limited next season after the Copa Del Rey and Champions League holders confirmed the signing of compatriot Toni Kroos earlier this week.
Neubauer hasn’t ruled out the possibility of Khedira remaining with the Madrid club, having just returned to full fitness at the end of last season in time for Germany’s successfull World Cup campaign.
“We are talking to Real Madrid about his contract, but nothing is close to being decided,” said Neubauer. “Sami has just returned from the World Cup and has gone on holiday.”
With Khedira being away on holiday, speculation is set to continue over the next couple of weeks until he is back with the Spanish giants.
