England defender Kieran Trippier has insisted there is no need to be panicked following their loss against Spain.

On the back of their successful World Cup campaign, the host side was back on the pitch for the first time since their defeat to Belgium in the World Cup third place playoffs.

The 2-1 defeat against Spain was their third consecutive loss including the disappointing 2-1 semifinal loss against Croatia. Despite not making it to the final their effort has been appreciated whole heartedly and they were welcomed in a grand manner at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

Trippier has cemented his place in the team as the preferred choice and the Tottenham Hotspur right back believes they are currently on a rebuilding process. ‘It is not a concern.

“We are building and that is all we can do, play against these teams. We want to test ourselves against the best and certainly tonight we put up a fight.

“We knew it was going to be a difficult game, these are the teams we want to play against.

“We started bright and got the early goal and then to concede straight away after was disappointing.

“They passed it around very well in the first-half, we talked about that coming out into the second.

“I thought we played much better in the second half, we got it down and we played and we were unlucky not to come out with a draw.”
