Joshua Kimmich has said that Liverpool are favourites ahead of their Champions League clash against Bayern Munich.
The Reds will take on the Bavarians in which is expected to be a mega contest in the UCL this week.
Bayern Munich defender Joshua Kimmich has said that Liverpool will start as favourites in their Champions League match against the Bavarians. The match will be played at Anfield later this week and it is expected to be one of the most awaited contests in European football this year. The Reds have been in stunning form this season and have taken almost all their opponents to the sword with their “gegenpressing” style of football, implemented by manager Jurgen Klopp and would look to do the same when they lock horns with the Bundesliga giants.
Speaking to the media ahead of their mega contest against the Merseyside club, the Bayern Munich right-back said, “Liverpool are the favourites.”
He added, “Now, it’s a bit different. It’s a chance to develop, to find new ways to success. We are close to Dortmund, in the quarter-finals of the DFB-Pokal, and still in the Champions League. So, not everything’s bad. But we need to improve our style of playing before we can compare to the best teams in Europe.”
Kimmich also hailed German gaffer Klopp for his contribution to develop Liverpool in one of the most lethal attacking sides in recent times. He said, “It’s amazing, the emotion he has, on the field, with the fans. You can see how he pushes his players to another level. Every player is better with this coach.”
