The defender is reportedly joining Liverpool in the summer
Jurgen Klopp remained coy when he was quizzed on whether or not Joel Matip would be joining Liverpool in the summer.
Recent reports have claimed that the defender has agreed a deal to join the Reds at the end of the season and that he will run his contract out with Schalke.
However, when Klopp himself was asked about a deal for the 24-year old, he remained tight-lipped, refusing to give anything away. He said: “At the moment we have nothing to say.
“When something is agreed we will speak about it but nothing yet, nothing else to say.”
Matip has been linked with a move to the Premier League for quite some time and it seems as if he may finally have secured a move with this Reds deal.
The Schalke man has been with the club since 2009 and it has been his only team that he has played for so far in his career. During that time, he has racked up over 140 appearances and become a key player for the Bundesliga side.
However, it looks like he could be wanting a new challenge, with the player looking set to finally leave Germany after six years.
