Jurgen Klopp is facing a defensive dilemma ahead of Liverpool’s needle clash against Manchester United.

The two giants of the Premier League are set to lock horns against each other in the next match at Anfield.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is set to face a difficult situation during team selection with a number of his defenders being injured. The likes of Joel Matip, Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander Arnold are all out with injuries and are not expected to take any part in their next match against United, which is a matter of concern for the German mastermind.

Speaking to the media about the seriousness of Alexander-Arnold’s injury, who picked up a knock against Napoli during the midweek clash, Klopp said, “We have to see. For him, it is day by day how we judge it,” he added, “It’s not cool but as long as we still have enough players, it is our job to always find a solution for it – and we will have a solution for the weekend, but of course it is not perfect.”

When asked whether Nathaniel Clyne will be able to fill in from the right in the match against United, the Liverpool gaffer said, “Clyney was unfortunately injured in the last two or three weeks. It was nothing serious but serious enough that he couldn’t be a part of training. Luckily, for four days he is in full training again – so that’s good. Is he ready for 90 minutes? I don’t know. Is he ready? Yes.”

Liverpool will look to take maximum points off the match as they would aim to return to the top of the Premier League table, leapfrogging Manchester City, who went ahead of them with a win over Everton in their last match.
