The German coach admits he will retire by the time he is 60

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed he would be happy to take charge of the Reds for the rest of his managerial career, should he be given the opportunity to do so.

The 49-year-old has been in charge at Anfield for a year, next week, and hopes to achieve his Premier League title ambitions before planning to retire when he turns 60, having previously managed Mainz and Borussia Dortmund.

Klopp admits he plans to return to Germany when retires from his managerial career, but first he hopes to return Liverpool to past glories and have the club winning league titles once again.

“I certainly will (return to Germany) to live, but I don’t know if I will be back there as a coach yet. The day will come when I say, ‘thanks, it was a pleasure’.” said Klopp.

“It’s very, very unlikely that I will still be sitting on the bench when I am 60. And, if at the end of my career I only got to coach Mainz, Dortmund and Liverpool, then it will certainly have been three fantastic clubs.”

Liverpool have four wins from six Premier League games – drawing at Tottenham and a shock loss at Burnley – and Klopp is now hoping to make it a fifth consecutive win for the Reds when they head to the Liberty Stadium to face a Swansea side that has won just once this season, and currently is one place above the relegation zone.

But despite Klopp’s men having scored 14 goals in their past four games, the German is not underestimating this weekend’s opponents, and believes their current points total doesn’t reflect their quality.

“This season we have time to analyse all the opponents properly and they play much better than four points look like.” said Klopp.

“It’s a good football-playing side with a clear plan, with different options in their style of play, good defending. If you want, it’s a typical Premier League problem.

“You analyse an opponent and you think, ‘Okay, that’s quite strong’. They were unlucky in this situation, lucky in this situation for the opponent. We will be prepared for this game and no one should be in doubt that we know about the quality of Swansea.”

Swansea’s only win so far this season has come against Burnley – the only team to beat Klopp’s side so far this season.
