The Reds have now officially opened the new Main Stand

Liverpool have officially unveiled their redeveloped Main Stand at Anfield ahead of their fixture against Leicester this weekend.

The club showed it off as part of an event, which current Reds’ boss Jurgen Klopp attended. When asked about the new-look stand, the manager claimed that several players were ‘stunned and impressed’ by the new Main Stand, which has been under development for quite some time now.

The upgrade to the stand has increased the attendance of Anfield (as we reported here in a separate article), which means that the game against current Premier League champions Leicester could be the highest attendance at Anfield in nearly 40 years!

Add to the intimidation factor

The expansion was put in place to ensure that many more Reds’ fans could flock to live games and get a seat and now that the development has finally been completed, it is sure to bring in the extra fans that they want.

The boost of thousands of more fans could help make Anfield even more intimidating for away fans and Klopp has already claimed that he hopes the added support will help make the ground even more of a fortress, as Liverpool look to push on this season and get into the top four at least.
