The Reds boss has finally given in on the injury-prone striker

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will sell injury-prone and out-of-form striker Daniel Sturridge in the summer.

The German boss, who arrived at the club in October 2015, has been patient with the former Manchester City and Chelsea striker, but has finally conceded the 27-year-old’s long-term future at the club is over.

Sturridge has been unfortunate enough to struggle with a variety of injuries during his time at Anfield, while some of the club’s former players have criticised him for not trying to push through the pain barrier.

And Klopp will sell up in the summer, with West Ham having previously shown interest and undoubted onlookers from China, in order to bring in further attacking options.

The Reds haven’t been short of goals this season, up until late, and are currently the league’s top scorers, but the England international has yet to net in the league this campaign.

Liverpool have previously been linked with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and could go back in for the Gabon international in the summer, with Klopp looking to lure his former Borussia Dortmund star to Anfield.

However, Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid are also understood to be interested, and it yes to be known whether the Reds will be competing in the Champions League next campaign – in a bid to lure him to the club.
