‘I’ve won trophies with every club I’ve been with’
Kolo Toure believes that Liverpool can win the Europa League on Wednesday because he has won trophies with every other club he’s played at.
The experienced centre-back has enjoyed success with ASEC Mimosas, Arsenal and Manchester City, but has yet to win a trophy since joining Liverpool.
“For the fans, we have a special relationship and I thank them every day for that.
“I really enjoy every day I’m here and this game is going to be massive. This season has been up and down, but this is the second final we are going to play.
“When you get to that stage all you’ve got to do is give everything you’ve got to bring back a medal.”
Toure has played a major part for Liverpool in recent weeks, with the defender benefiting from the absence of Mamadou Sakho, who has been suspended by UEFA for failing a drugs test.
As things stand, it isn’t clear whether Toure, who has a pass accuracy of 81% in the Premier League this season, will be offered a new deal at Liverpool, with his current contract set to expire at the end of next month.
A good performance in the Europa League final, though, could potentially go a long way towards earning the defender a fresh contract.
Before the Sevilla game, Liverpool take on West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Sunday in their final Premier League fixture of the campaign.
