Liverpool and Arsenal target has revealed his desire to stay

Alexandre Lacazette has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League following his impressive form, scoring 25 league goals this season.

Though the 23 year-old has admitted he could leave France in the summer, it appears the forward now wants to extend his contract at the Stade Gerland.

“It is too early to speak about opportunities of leaving abroad. In any case, it will be a footballing decision,” Lacazette told Le Progres.

“To go to Qatar next season, that doesn’t interest me. I would like to sign a contract extension.

“I am good at Lyon, and if I feel that the project will continue advance, I can see myself staying. Even if we don’t win the Champions League.”

Premier League Interest

Brendan Rodgers is desperate to bring in a new striker at the end of the season after Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini all failed to impress throughout this campaign.

There are also long-term fears regarding Daniel Sturridge’s fitness as he has been injured three times throughout the season, costing Liverpool dearly throughout.

As for Arsenal, they signed Danny Welbeck on Transfer Deadline Day last Summer, but Arsene Wenger feels he needs a third option to help support Welbeck and Olivier Giroud.

However both manages have been dealt a blow after Lacazette confirmed his desire to stay put in France.
