Paul Lambert has told new Aston Villa star Jack Grealish to ignore interest from Chelsea for now and sign a new deal at Villa Park.
The 19-year-old winger played 45 minutes during Villa’s 3-0 defeat to Arsenal and was impressive despite the result. The club have reportedly put a brand new 4-year-deal on the table.
Grealish has come through Villa’s acadamy and has attracted interest from Chelsea, but Villa manager Lambert has told him to be sensible and stay where he is in order to develop,
“Jack is developing. He’s nowhere near the finished article. He’s at the best place because he can get near the first team,” he said.
“He’s playing little bits here and there but he’s still far from being an established player. Hopefully something will be done.
“You have to put your best foot forward but we’re talking.”
