Monaco defender Layvin Kurzawa has admitted that he made a mistake when he travelled to watch Manchester City in November.

The defender has impressed for the French Ligue 1 side, and sparked a transfer speculation when he attended Manchester City’s European Cup game with Bayern Munich.

Kurzawa has attracted interest from City, as well as Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea.

However he revealed that he never held talks with any side, and regrets making the trip to the Etihad Stadium.

He told L’Equipe: “I don’t have to justify myself, but I didn’t go there to meet with leaders of Manchester City and, besides, they also confirmed that.

There was nothing with the club. I have not responded to not worsen the situation, but I assure you it’s true.

“Yes, I know, I should not have been out there.

“When it’s a footballer you’re talking about, we can’t just show up in any city or at any big club.

“It was a mistake, but it was not to meet them.”
