Lazar Markovic suspended for FOUR games

Liverpool midfielder, Lazar Markovic, has been suspended for the next four European games after the incident during the FC Basel game.

The Serbian midfielder was only on the pitch for 15-minutes before he saw red for hitting out at an opponent, and UEFA have confirmed today that the Liverpool star will be suspended for the next four games.

Markovic will now miss the Europa League last-32 ties against Besiktas and would also then miss both legs of the last-16 round if Liverpool were to advance.

The reason why Markovic has been given a four match ban rather than a three match ban is because he was also sent off when playing for Benfica last May.
