Leicester City manager Claude Puel believes midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has turned into a matured performer over the last few years. Ndidi joined the club in 2017 and since then has been an ever-present in the Foxes starting lineup.

The young midfielder engine recently committed his long term future to the club by penning a new six year contract which will keep him at the club till 2024. The 21 year old has been one of the most consistent performers for Leicester and his impressive display in the middle of the park earned him the club’s best young player award in the last campaign.

Puel believes the youngster has the potential to be one of the best midfielders in the next few years. “We forget almost he is just 21.

“He is like an experienced player and he makes a lot of progress and continues to improve.

“He is a ball-winner but now he improves on the ball. He is comfortable and has good control and passes.

“He has the capacity to take information and keep a good direction.

“He can play forward and I think it is great to have this player in the team because he gives strength to the team with his attitude and spirit.

“He gives us direction in our play and I am happy he continues in this way with us.”
