Leicester City have decided to offer Harry Maguire a deal of £75,000 a week to prevent him from going to Manchester United. The 25-year old Maguire has become a national hero due to his stellar performances with England at the ongoing World Cup in Russia. Maguire scored a goal in the quarter-final against Sweden and provided an assist to help England reach the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup for the first time in nearly three decades.

His performances for England saw him come under Manchester United’s radar and the club was reported to have made a £50 million bid for him. Following this, reports emerged that Leicester City are willing to give Maguire a massive pay rise.

The Foxes will pay Maguire an extra £30000 per week if he commits himself to the club. The 25-year old defender was Leicester City’s best player of the 2017-18 season and coach Claude Puel is eager to have him commanding the defense in the upcoming season as well.

Having already lost Riyad Mahrez to Manchester City, Leicester City will try to keep Maguire and send a message to all clubs that their top players aren’t for sale.

Harry Maguire will be expected to lead England’s line of defense later today as the Three Lions take on Belgium at Saint Petersburg in the third place playoff in the World Cup.
