Liverpool are keeping a close eye on the young defender

Leicester have claimed that Liverpool would need to stump up £10m to sign Ben Chilwell.

According to reports, the Foxes aren’t keen to let the young talent leave despite him not yet playing in the Premier League. Therefore, they have slapped a rather hefty price tag on the 19-year old’s head.

Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp though are unlikely to be fazed and could in fact match that valuation in a bid to get their man. The Reds have already placed a £7m bid for the left-back but it is highly unlikely that Leicester will accept it.

Instead, they are holding out for an extra £3m and know that Liverpool’s eagerness to sign the player could see them adhere to this demand and up their offer.

Klopp keen on another defender

Jurgen Klopp is hoping to bolster his defence this summer and wants another left-back to either challenge current starting LB Alberto Moreno or even take his place in the side and he believes Chilwell has the talent and potential to do well in that position and potentially become even better.

The 19-year old has attracted a lot of interest from bigger Premier League sides over the past couple of months and the Reds are the latest to express a keen interest in him.

They are determined to get their man and if the Reds up their bid for the defender, then we could see him playing in Liverpool colours next season.
