Foxes want to reward Algerian with new deal

Leicester City are working on a new deal for midfield-maestro Riyad Mahrez, according to reports.

The Foxes announced last week that star-striker Jamie Vardy had put pen to paper on a new deal, and according to reports today, they are now working on a new deal for Mahrez.

The Algerian international has been a stand-out performer so far this year in the Premier League, with his goals and assists taking Leicester to the top of the table with just a few months left to go.

Mahrez moved to the King Power Stadium back in the summer of 2014, after they agreed to pay Le Havre just ÂŁ400k, and on Saturday he celebrated scoring his 14th goal of the season and setting up his 10th as Leicester thrashed Manchester City 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

According to reports, talks with the 24-year-old won’t begin until the summer, but after securing Vardy‘s long-term future, they now want to get Mahrez tied down on a similar length deal.
