Barcelona’s new signing, Lenglet is happy to not play against Lionel Messi
French defender and Barcelona’s new signing Clément Lenglet has admitted that he is happy that he wont be playing against Lionel Messi.
Barcelona signed Lenglet from Sevilla a fee of €35 million in the beginning of the month. The defender has expressed his happiness of playing with the Argentinian star Lionel Messi.
In his talks with Barca tv, the player joked that he is happy not to play a game against Messi. He said, “I am really happy to be here, because I don’t have to play against them now,”
“Messi is the best in the world. He dominates games easily and can score at any moment from wherever he wants.
“If you have some luck, you can stop him a little bit, but then someone else catches you out.”
The player hopes that he can have contribute at Camp Nou like other star players of Barca.
He said, “When you play with good players, the adaption is a little bit easier and here every player is at the top level,”
“Barça’s philosophy is to bring the ball out from the back and it’s the only club in the world that plays this way. Everyone has told me how incredible the city is, too, and that when you sign for Barça you never want to leave.”
Lenglet joined the Spanish Giants after representing Sevilla for 2 years. He represented Sevilla in 73 games and has scored 4 times for the club.
Lenglet will hopefully represent Barca in their pre-season tour of America with many stars yet to join the team after world cup.
