Barca new signing Lenglet wants Rabiot to leave PSG and  join Barcelona

Rabiot has been linked to the move to the Spanish side fo a long time. The player has already desired to leave the French club. Fellow country mate Clement Lenglet who has recently joined Barcelona from Sevilla on a fee of €35 million has said that he would love Adrien Rabiot to join the Spanish side.

Rabiot who was a part of the French side for 6 years was also linked to a move to English side Tottenham Hotspurs.

Rabiot in his initial days was a part of clubs like Creteil-Lusitanos and Manchester City but was then signed by Paris-Saint-Germain on a 3 years deal. He was soon promoted to the senior side by Carlos Ancelotti and he soon made his debut on 26th August in a Ligue 1 game against Bordeaux which ended in a 0-0 draw. He was loaned to Toulouse in January 2013 where he appeared in 13 games and score in just one game.

Rabiot then returned to PSG in the year 2013. Since then, he appeared for 200 matches and scored on 22 occasions helping his team to win the domestic league for 2 years back to back.

In his news conference Lenglet has admitted that Rabiot will be a good signing for the Barca. He said, “Of course [I would like to have him here],”

“He’s a really good player and Barca always want the best players in the world – and ambitious young players always want to grow and win titles. I would love to play with him. I know him well and he’s a friend of mine”, he added.

There were linkups of Lenglet joining the English side Manchester United, but the player was keen on a move to Camp Nou.

He said, “I chose Barcelona because, for me, they’re the biggest club [in the world] and they play in Spain, which is the best league in the world, I want to win trophies and I think I am at the best possible club to do that. Of course, I also want to play, because a player that doesn’t play isn’t always happy. I am here to learn, to play minutes and to win titles.”

“Like all players, I want to play as much as possible. I know I am at a big club with a lot of competition in my position but I am going to do all I can to be on the pitch every game. I am ambitious but also respectful. There are really good players here and I will learn from them on the training ground and in matches – whether I’m playing or not.”

He ended the conference by praising his chance of playing with Lionel Messi . He said , “When you have the opportunity to play in a stadium like this, play the Champions League, play with Messi, have the option to win the Champions League… this gives you motivation to sign here.”
