According to the latest reports, Leroy Sane is hoping to leave Manchester City for Bayern Munich in January.
Sane was tipped to join Bayern last summer but Bayern got two of their bids rejected. The German, unfortunately, got sidelined in August due to an anterior cruciate ligament tear, keeping him out of action for six-nine months.
Sportbild journalist, Christian Falk believes Sane wants to join the Bundesliga champions. He is closing in on his return as revealed by City head coach, Pep Guardiola. The Spaniard told reporters, “That was the next step, to go-to pitch. Then he will train with us and then full sessions. Leroy being back to full fitness would be great for us.”
There is no doubt Sane is a crucial element in Guardiola’s City resistance. The speedy winger used to be a part of the fearsome front three of Raheem Sterling and Kun Aguero. However, after the emergence of Bernardo Silva and arrival of Riyad Mahrez, Sane saw his minutes drop significantly drop last season.
Guardiola has managed to cover up the German’s position for now but he is struggling to get cover for Aymeric Laporte. City have dropped 14 points behind Liverpool in the title race and Sane might think of this to be a prime opportunity to leave for Bayern.
