LIONEL MESSI: Adidas to lend a helping hand to Manchester United over transfer

Adidas are set to lend a helping hand to Manchester United, in their pursuit of Manchester United, reports in Spain suggest.

The German sportsbrand will help fund the £200 million transfer deal, having recently become United’s new kit supplier from next season, in a ten-year deal, replacing Nike in the process.

Messi, aged 27, has a reported £190 million release clause to prize him away from the Nou Camp, with speculation regarding his future still firmly up in the air.

The Argentine international has recently fallen-out with Barcelona manager Luis Enrique, with a whole host of clubs lining up to sign him, should a move come to surface.

It emerged last week that only United and Chelsea can realistically afford Messi, due to Financial Fair play regulations.

And that is at which point Adidas step in, who will hope to lure their sponsored player to Old Trafford by offering to help pay for Barcelona’s number 10.
