Chelsea are one of the biggest spenders in Europe, the Premier League side are not shy to splash out some cash for reinforcement of the squad. In this article we take a look at Chelsea Most Expensive Signings Ever.

The club has been one of the most successful clubs in Europe and are getting better and better as day’s go buy, currently the team is unbeaten in all competitions and are currently sitting third in the Premier League behind Manchester City and Liverpool who are tow point’s ahead of the Blues.

Chelsea 2019 season

2016/17 was a very successful season for Chelsea FC. They reached the FA Cup final, and most importantly, won the Premier League in their first season managed by Antonio Conte. There were doubts at the beginning of the season that Conte was the right man, after losses to rivals Arsenal and Liverpool. However, after a change of formation, Conte had a very successful season and in the end Chelsea ran out comfortable winners of the league.

Of course, last season they had no European football after a poor 2015/16 season. This meant they had fewer games than most of their rivals and players had more recovery time between each game. In the long run, this probably helped them but this season will be different. Having qualified for the Champions League group stages, most weeks they will be playing two games per week.

New Era at Chelsea (Sarri Ball)

Chelsea FC sacked Antonio Conte and hired Maurizio Sarri as head coach from Napoli. Sarri has chosen to take Jorginho who is also from Napoli along with him to Chelsea. It’s said that the  deal to sign Sarri was included in the £57 million fee for Jorginho (around £7 million).

Chelsea broke the transfer record for a goalkeeper after signing Kepa Arrizabalaga for £71.6 million- just a couple of weeks after Liverpool had broken the record for signing Allisson. The Blues also signed Mateo Kovacic on loan from Real Madrid as a makeweight for selling goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid for a cut price (around £35 m) due to his contract expiring and also sue to the Belgian forcing Chelsea’s hand by going AWOL in preseason training.

Chelsea now have a fluidity in their play and are keeping move of the ball than they have done in previous years under different managers.
