Liverpool have accpeted a £14 million offer from Sunderland for winger Fabio Borini after the Italian spent the whole of last season on loan with the Black Cats. The Italian was a big contributor to Sunderland’s safety from relegation in the Premier League after scoring crucial goals during the final games of last season. Sunderland had a £10 million bid for the 23-year-old rejected by Liverpool but improved their offer to £14 million which saw the Merseyside club accept the deal. Borini was Brendan Rodger’s first signing as Liverpool manager after moving to Anfield for a fee of £10 million from Roma in 2012. However, the Italian scored just two goals during his debut season at Liverpool, a campaign that was vastly affected by injury.
