After months of speculation and talks over whether or not Lavezzi will be offered a new contract by the Parisien club, it has now been confirmed that he will not, sparking a transfer battle amongst a number of European clubs.

Inter Milan, Liverpool and Tottenham have all shown an interest in the Agentine winger and it appears as though these three clubs in particular will be in a bidding war next month.

PSG are still looking for ÂŁ17m for Lavezzi, however the Ligue 1 champions may consider a reduced fee given that his contract at the Parc des Princes expires in 2016.

Selling the 29 year-old will also appease UEFA and their Financial Fair Play regulations, making activity in future transfer windows easier for boss Laurent Blanc.

Other than the emergence of young forward Harry Kane, it doesn’t appear as though Mauricio Pochettino has many attacking options in his side and could turn to the Argentine as a solution.

There has been talk of exits to Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor so Lavezzi will certainly be an important purchase if these sales materialise.

Meanwhile Brenden Rodgers has not had much luck with forwards this season, with Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini, Rickie Lambert and Lazar Markovic failing to impress since their summer moves and the club certainly have no lack of transfer funds after selling star Luis Suarez to Barcelona.
