Real Madrid turn down offer from Premier League outfit

Liverpool have had an approach for Martin Odegaard turned down by Real Madrid, according to reports.

The 17-year-old joined the Bernabeu back in January 2015 after agreeing to leave Stromsgodset, and since then he’s become one of the most high-profile teenagers in world football.

After leaving the Norwegian club, it was reported that the teenager signed a deal worth around ÂŁ60k-a-week at Madrid despite initially playing for the reserve team.

Since then, Odegaard has gone on to make eight first-team appearances at the La Liga giants, with his debut coming at the end of last season.

However, since then the midfielder has been dropped back to the reserves as officials at the Bernabeu want to wait until he’s ready for the first-team.

Liverpool Interest

As he hasn’t been in the picture, Liverpool were hoping to sign him on a short-term loan deal until the end of the season, but their approaches were rejected by the Spanish side.

According to Marca, a Spanish newspaper, Liverpool wanted Odegaard for six months, but the offer was turned down as they wanted him to continue to develop in Madrid.
