The defender has already rejected Arsenal
Liverpool are keen to sign defender Mamadou Doucoure, according to reports.
The PSG man has a whole host of potential suitors who are all currently vying for his signature. One of them was Arsenal, but he is believed to have turned down a move to the Emirates Stadium already, with the centre-back preferring a move to Borussia Monchengladbach instead.
However, with a move to the German side nearing, the Reds are ready to step in to try and convince him to make the move to England instead.
Jurgen Klopp is eager to bring in some defensive reinforcements and although Doucoure would be unlikely to feature much yet, he has bags of potential and is considered to be one of the big defensive stars of the future.
Monchengladbach offering first-team football
However, Monchengladbach are believed to be offering the youngster a lot more first-team football and it means that he could ultimately end up turning Liverpool down in favour of a move to Germany. It won’t stop the Reds from trying to tie up a last-ditch deal for the 17-year old though.
In addition to Monchengladbach pursuing his signature, PSG are also desperate to keep hold of him. They are hoping that the defender will sign professional terms in Paris and stay on at the club, but with several other top sides chasing him, Doucoure could decide to leave instead.
