Reds could sign former-Manchester United star

Liverpool have been given the all-clear to sign Juventus striker Carlos Tevez, with the Argentinian international all set to leave the club at the end of the season.

According to Italian media, Tevez is set to leave The Old Lady after the Champions League final this evening, and despite an interest from his hometown club Boca Juniors, he could be persuaded with a return to the Premier League.

Tevez’s Career so Far

Tevez spent several years in England with West Ham United, Manchester United and then Manchester City, but then left the club in controversial circumstances after reusing to warm-up for City during a Champions League game.

The striker then joined Juve where he went on to win numerous titles and could add a Champions League winners medal to his tally this evening if they can stun FC Barcelona.

It’s been reported for a while that Tevez could be set for a Summer exit from Juventus, but it was strongly thought that he would return to Argentina for his family’s sake and to play for his boyhood club one last time.

Liverpool Interest

However, Liverpool are interested in signing him and bringing him to Anfield.

Brendan Rodgers needs a striker this Summer with his trio of options all failing this season, and Daniel Sturridge missing the majority of the season through injury.

Fabio Borini, Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert all failed to impress on Merseyside, so Tevez could be the perfect answer for Rodgers and co.

Heart Set on Argentina?

The Reds may have a tough task in persuading the Argentine to snub a return home for Liverpool, but they will be able to offer more money than Boca Juniors.

The 31-year-old will decide his future plans after tonight’s Champions League final in Berlin.

  1. Feels like Liverpool is becoming a middle-table club under the directives of the FSG… now buying Carlos Tevez… ha ha ha it would be a joke. 5 years ago i would have said it was worth it… Now ?? Is that their best position… Milner & now Tevez ??
