Brendan Rodgers ready to bring in left-back from French champions

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is ready to sign Paris Saint-Germain left-back Lucas Digne, according to reports.

The Reds are currently short of options in the left-back position, with Alberto Moreno the only natural one within the squad’s first-team.

Jose Enrique has been told by Rodgers that he can leave, whilst Javier Manquillo‘s loan-spell was terminated halfway through it’s deal.

Joe Gomez can play at left-back, but it’s believed that Rodgers is not ready to rely on the new summer signing from Charlton Athletic on a regular basis just yet.

Digne to Liverpool?

Digne made 14 appearances for the Ligue 1 champions last season, but he could be in line for a move to the Premier League with Liverpool keen to get a deal done.

The 22-year-old could secure a season-long loan to England, but a permanent deal is always an option it’s reported.

If Rodgers and Liverpool do get the deal over the line, Digne would be the club’s eighth summer signing, with Christian Benteke expected to arrive as their seventh.
