The Reds are £3.5 million off Inter Milan’s valuation

Liverpool are reportedly close to agreeing a deal for Inter Milan midfielder Mateo Kovacic.

Reports from Italy suggest that Inter need to sell before they buy, with Kovacic set to be offloaded this summer.

Roberto Mancini’s team are after highly rated midfielders Geoffrey Kondogbia and Giannelli Imbula, from French clubs Monaco and Marseille respectively. Both are said to be very close to signing at the San Siro.

The Croatia international Kovacic has previously been linked with a move to Liverpool, who are understood to be £3.5 million away from matching Inter’s valuation for the player.

Brendan Rodgers has been busy so far in this transfer window, with James Milner, Danny Ings, Adam Bogdan, and youngster Joe Gomez all joining the Anfield club.
