Liverpool are closing in on a double deal for defenders Javier Manquillo and Alberto Moreno from Atletico Madrid and Sevilla respectively.
The Reds have been busy in the transfer market already this Summer, but Brendan Rodgers is now keen to focus on his defence after signing five attacking-minded players.
After signing Dejan Lovren from Southampton, Rodgers took his tally up to six, and he is now set to wrap up his seventh and eigth signings in the form of Manquillo and Moreno.
Rodgers has been keen on Moreno from Sevilla all Summer but a deal fell through due to the difference in asking prices, but it now appears that the deal for the left-back is back on.
It’s believed that Liverpool director Ian Ayre, has flown out to Spain in order to hold talks with both Atletico and Sevilla, and it’s thought that he will try and wrap up deals for both full-backs, with the Manquillo deal being a loan move first.
Sevilla are still holding out for £20million for Moreno, but Rodgers and Ayre are confident that they can lower their demands.
