Liverpool are leading the race for Borussia Dortmund starlet Marco Reus after the German international rejected a contract renewal offer from Dortmund and looks set to leave the club this summer.
Reus’ release clause, which comes into effect next summer, was believed to be worth £27 million, but German newspaper Bild have now said that interested clubs have been alerted that the clause is only worth as low as £19.8 million.
This meaning that Liverpool could bring the German ace to Anfield for less then £20 million this summer, if they repel other interested clubs.
Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are also known as to be keen on signing the 25-year-old, however, with Bayern and Real already stocked with midfielders and Reus revealing that he wants a challenge at the next club, Liverpool are firmly in the race for his signature.
