Same old story for Reds and their big targets

Liverpool target Julian Brandt has reportedly agreed a deal with Bayern Munich ahead of a move this summer.

It’s thought that Bayern will pay Bayer Levekusen €30million for the midfielder’s services, but if they wait another season they could get him for a cut-price deal in 2018.

He was thought to be high on Liverpool’s wishlist for the summer, but he has admitted he is not intent on leaving the Bundesliga for the Premier League.

‘You can take the step [abroad], but I don’t think you have to,’ he told Deutsche Welle last month.

‘Those that back themselves to do it have nothing in their way.

‘I don’t think it’s a bad thing to try and find your feet abroad. Julian [Draxler] and Leroy [Sane] are the best examples of that right now. They are both young players and have huge futures ahead of them.

‘It’s tough to say. I’m happy here and what happens next, we will see.’
