Liverpool may be on the verge of a £30m deal for Napoli forward Gonzalo Higuain.
Napoli are facing pressure to balance the books and meet strict Financial Fair Play rules after signing Manolo Gabbiadini from Sampdoria.
The Reds are struggling for goals this season, and have been linked to bring in Higuain for a while.
The former Real Madrid star is thought to have a release clause in his contract which can be triggered with a bid of £30m.
Higuain has 13 goals so far for Napoli this season.
He signed from the Spanish side for 40m Euros in 2013.
