Chelsea star could be set for season-long loan at Anfield

Liverpool could offer Chelsea a loan-deal for veteran goalkeeper Petr Cech in the Summer, according to reports.

The 32-year-old is widely expected to leave Stamford Bridge over the Summer after falling out of favour under Jose Mourinho due to Thibaut Courtois.

The Belgium shot-stopper rejoined Chelsea after spending three years out on loan with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, and was made The Blues’ new number-one at the beginning of the season.

At the time, Cech decided to stay put at The Bridge in order to fight for his first-team spot, but after a whole season on the bench, Cech is finally ready to leave the club.

Competition for Cech

Several clubs across Europe are reportedly interested in Cech, including Arsenal, but it’s believed Liverpool are ready to make a formal offer for him, albeit a loan-deal.

Brendan Rodgers has been less than impressed with Simon Mignolet this season and has been strongly linked with several goalkeepers throughout the season.

However, a loan deal for Cech appears to be his favoured choice if Chelsea are prepared to sell him on a temporary basis.

It’s believed Liverpool will pay ÂŁ1million for the loan deal and will pay all of Cech’s weekly wage, which is believed to be around ÂŁ125k-a-week.
