Jurgen Klopp wants a reunion with the striker in the summer

Liverpool are readying a summer swoop for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to reports today.

The Sun is claiming that the Reds are eager to sign the striker in the summer despite the substantial transfer fee that they would likely have to pay.

Borussia Dortmund will not want to lose the forward, who has become one of their most important players and a fee of around ÂŁ40m would be needed to even make the Bundesliga side consider letting go of the 27-year old.

Liverpool though could gather some of that sum by selling on several players at the end of the season, including Daniel Sturridge.

Injuries to Daniel Sturridge

Despite the fact the striker is beginning to feature again, he has failed to recapture the same form he had a few seasons ago when he was part of the SAS strikeforce with Luis Suarez. This is mainly down to injury, with the former Chelsea man suffering with several of them over the last few seasons.

However, despite this, they are expected to easily find a buyer for the England man, with West Ham reportedly keen to sign him. This would give Jurgen Klopp’s side some of the funds needed to reunite the Gabon international with his former manager.

Klopp of course brought Aubameyang to Dortmund and gave him his chance at the club and he is eager to give him his chance in England when the transfer window re-opens. They will have to battle with Man City for his signature though.
