Manchester United and PSG are stalling over deal
Liverpool are reportedly favourites to land PSV Eindhoven winger Memphis Depay after both Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have withdrew their interest in the Dutchman.
Depay has been superb this season for PSV and has been a big-part in their title success, but after a stunning campaign, it’s been reported that he won’t stay in his homeland past this season.
According to numerous reports, the Dutch champions are ready to cash in on the winger and will listen to offers of around £25million for the 21-year-old.
European Interest
In recent months, Liverpool, Manchester United and PSG have all been competing for his signature, but according to latest reports, it’s Brendan Rodgers‘ side that are in pole position.
It’s been reported this morning that PSG have dropped their interest after reports leaked about their desire to sign him, whilst Louis Van Gaal is also stalling at the idea of bringing him to Old Trafford despite their Dutch connection.
Van Gaal is keen on bringing Dutch players to Manchester because he loves their work-rate, but he could be ready to pull out of the Depay race leaving Liverpool favourites to sign him.
Depay Wants Move
Sources in Holland have already reported that Depay wants to be in the Premier League next season and he reportedly visited Anfield a fortnight ago and was left seemingly impressed with the set-up in Merseyside.
Stumbling Block
The only potential stumbling block for Rodgers is that the lack of Champions League football next year could sway Depay away from the move.
